Grid Deconstruction

This technique splits apart a grid into sections or “zones” that can be moved and realigned to create more interesting looking designs. Major zones can be “cut apart” & are shifted around to a different area either horizontally or vertically. When information that would normally appear in an expected place is placed somewhere else, it creates a new connection that didn’t exist before. This also applies to changing the size of these zones to further point out or highlight specific information designed to grab the attention of the audience. Shifting columns in a way that they overlap creates the illusion of layers within the space, as if the text is floating on top of each other. Column overlap/width/rotation create space & movement that can be similar to one style without outright copying it. Even some hotel rooms have type grids to give the guests staying there a laugh for entertainment!
