  • Black VS. Rich Black in Adobe

    100% black won’t be thick enough if a colored object is behind it, but a full CMYK black can. Settings when designing for print: Window>Attributes>Overprint Fill(Checkbox Option) View>Overprint Preview(Toggle Between On & Off)

  • Magazine Nameplates

    These are pretty much the logo on a magazine. You want to make sure yours stick out so that people can tell what’s yours.

  • Designing Ads

    Designing ads have been really difficult for me in the past few weeks. I was able to do it, but it was long. It goes to show how you need to know what your client wants & what you’re doing in order to achieve the right results.

  • High Key & Low Key

    This is where you photograph a custom white balance, then take pictures of both a white object on a white background & a black object on a black background. you also have to adjust your shutter speed & aperture to get the right lighting.

    These are in Indesign too. Tables have their own styles & attributes that can be changed like fills in the cells & the strokes on the borders. Tables are more for making charts to compare things like prices, surveys, & other things to compare. Cells hold the individual words/numbers that are compared.

    In InDesign, Paragraph Styles apply attributes to entire paragraphs whereas Character Style apply attributes to characters/words in a paragraph.   • HDR Photography

    HDR photos are when you composite multiple images of the same subject but with different lighting to achieve balanced lighting where you can see the sky & what’s hidden by the shadows. Just be careful of anything moving in the image or else ghosting will happen.
